From Shetland to France

Because Polycrubs are sold in kit form, they can be transported to customers far afield. Molly in rural Burgundy, France recently became the proud owner of a Polycrub.

Although air temperatures are warm in summer, the autumn and winter seasons can be extremely chilly for sustained periods in Burgundy. So, when mad keen gardener, Molly, saw information about Polycrubs she knew it was the ideal growing space for her needs.

Shipping from Shetland to France was a straight-forward experience, thanks to fantastic support from the haulage company. Molly used a local builder and the construction instructions and ground plans supplied with all Polycrub kits, to carry out her build.

Summer temperatures have been uncommonly high in Burgundy but Molly reports that despite the Algerian heat, nothing ever suffered in the Polycrub due to the polycarbonate sheeting diffusing the sun’s rays. Molly describes this as ‘Incredible’ and ‘the ultimate test’.

Molly rates her Polycrub experience as ‘Excellent so far and I would recommend the jolly old Scottish Space Station (as my brother called it) to anyone wanting a long-term pal in the garden. We are eating aubergines, melons, cucumbers, peppers and buckets of tomatoes, chillies and butternut squash’. She attributes this to the overnight heat stored in the Polycrub, and general protection from the elements.
